Since the first concrete steps were taken to privatize the Jordan Telecommunications Company
(JTC) in 1994, phone service and connections have improved dramatically. All towns and cities have telephone office from which you can call abroad with low prices, and some have unofficial bureaux too. There are currently two types of public Phones where their Phone cards are generally sold at nearby shops.
